Add color to a home with the ideal floral decor

There is no shortage of ideas for floral decorations, and keep in mind that every location has different requirements. For example, for a prestigious table decor, you can arrange an abundance of flowers in a large vase, but small containers, like cups or mugs, are also suitable for small splashes of color.
It is usual to show more restraint on the kitchen table, because you need space for your tableware, but it is practical to use single flowers in small vases. This way you can enjoy the beauty of a pretty floral decor during your meal.
Floral decor on the table can be copious but depends on the size of the table. This is true, for example, for floral decor in the living room or dining room. On windowsills, sideboards and shelves in bedrooms, hallways, staircases or entryways, smaller arrangements are more appropriate. It is also recommended to use artificial or dried flower arrangements in the form of wreaths or garlands to welcome visitors at the front door, on interior doors and in passageways.

Create floral decorations

To match your unique style

Table decor should include flowers that underscore your personal style. If your home has a modern interior design, it’s a good idea for the floral decor to be modern. Another variant is to create a contrast to amplify the predominant style. If you place a light airy summer bouquet on a simple, straight-lined living room table, you create an attractive tension that embodies a modern style.
Floral decors should be arranged in a suitable container. For example, a single sprig of flowers in the right vase can be eye-catching. Villeroy & Boch vase collections offer the possibility of individual presentations for everyone, such as vases from the Manufacture collection, for example. These vases are characterized by their texture and contemporary designs, with a matte finish. Combine vases of different sizes and arrange them with individual twigs to emphasize these striking floral containers.

Tip:

To ensure greater stability, secure stems or branches with a flower frog. This is especially well suited to containers or bowls with larger openings.

Designing modern floral arrangements yourself

Anyone who likes flowers, is creative and enjoys plants can make floral decorations easily. If you prefer modern floral arrangements that last for a long time, it is a good idea to use dried flowers to compose your decor. However, fresh herbs or succulents are also ideal for making your floral decor more individual.
If you want fresh bouquets, you should always choose fresh flowers depending on the season: tulips in the spring, sunflowers in the summer, asters in the fall and roses or gerberas in the winter. It is important to use the right container so that modern floral arrangements express their creative style to the full.

Finding the right vase for floral decorations

The length and number of flowers must suit the vase. The shape, opening size and color of the vase affects the overall impression. The Lave collection offers vases in different shapes and in subtle colors. You can find the right vase for many types of bouquet here.
In general, long-stemmed flowers look better in cylindrical vases than in rounded containers. Vases with a large opening are ideal for abundant floral bouquets, and individual blossoms should protrude at least one third over the edge of the vase. Glass vases emphasize greenery, while opaque vases draw attention to the flowers.

Small vases

Small vases can be grouped or spread out, and since they do not take up much room, you can easily spruce up small spaces.

Glass vases

Cylindrical vases

Less is more. Do not use too many flowers in cylindrical vases or pack them too tightly, as they will look strict and rigid.

Spherical vases

Rounded flower heads, such as hydrangeas or dahlias look great in a spherical vase, because the curves go well together. Such generous flowers will look wonderful if the flowers are placed slightly askew.

Colored vases

Glass and porcelain vases from a single color group can bring a flower arrangement to life, and a variety of containers of different heights and shapes, with flowers in contrasting colors, will look particularly cheerful.

TIP

Care

To avoid stubborn stains, change the water regularly, especially in glass vases; the flowers also benefit, and remain fresh for longer. It is best to remove spots by hand using a sponge, but to get a special shine on glass and porcelain vases, clean with dishwasher detergent and dry with a clean cloth.
