Care instructions for wooden chopping boards
General information
There are a few things to bear in mind when handling solid, naturally treated wood:
Sharp and pointed objects should not come into contact with the surface.
Please do not use harsh cleaning agents or detergents.
Ensure regular ventilation in damp rooms. Excessively dry air also promotes warping of the solid wood parts.
Exposure to hot water vapour - e.g. opening the dishwasher - should be avoided.
The wood will warp if not installed or stored correctly or in a damp or cold environment.
Wooden kitchen boards are subject to heavy use. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that deformation and cracking may occur in the course of use, for which no guarantee can be given.
Care of the chopping boards
It is often sufficient to wipe the wooden chopping board with a damp cloth without detergent or rinse it under running water. Care should be taken to ensure that the front and back are always moistened so that no warping occurs during drying. Please never leave the wooden cutting board in standing water or clean it in the dishwasher! Before working with strong-smelling or strongly coloured food, please rinse the wooden chopping board briefly with cold water. Rinse with cold water immediately after use.
Cleaning
Normal cleaning and care: A damp cloth is sufficient. For heavier soiling, you can wipe the surface with a damp cloth - but please do not use aggressive cleaning agents under any circumstances. If the surface is slightly soiled, e.g. with water stains etc., it can be sanded and treated.
Re-oiling
Oiled wooden surfaces must be re-treated regularly. An oiled surface wears over time due to mechanical and physical stress. To re-oil, apply some wood oil to a cloth and rub it evenly over the surface in the direction of the fibres. After applying the oil, pull the cloth evenly over the oiled surface in the direction of the fibres to remove the excess. Leave the oil to work overnight and polish briefly the following day.
